With a motive to spread a clean environment, Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) started construction works of Deep Drains (Nullah) at Bharat Nagar area of Ward 40. Sharma was also accompanied by a large number of people including Corporators Ward 40 & 41 Neelam Nargotra and Sanjay Baru, State Media Secretary BJP Dr Pradeep Mahotra, UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be done under the supervision of UEED at an estimated cost of Rupees 32 lakhs and the construction works started from Bharat Nagar area and will be done up to Poonch House, Talab Tillo.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that to provide a neat and clean environment is the motive of Narendra Modi led Central Government and every area of Jammu West where there was a requirement of channelizing drains with deep drains was done under his tenure so that cleanliness could prevail in every nook and corner of the Constituency.
He stated that the deep drain from Bharat Nagar to Poonch house will be constructed again with installation of crates and walls with proper bed so that in rainy season, water from drains do not gather on lanes or roads and further it won’t enter into the houses of locals which earlier created problematic situations for them and ultimately built a chaos type circumstance for the inhabitants.
Neelam thanked the Former MLA for starting a long pending work and stated that this work will have an impact on thousands of inhabitants of the ward who have also appreciated the pro active approach of Former MLA. She also stated that there are many more works which have been started in the ward on the recommendations of Former MLA and many other works will also be taken up in coming days so that a Model Ward could be built in coming times.
AEE UEED Anil Sharma, JE Vijay Khajuria, Rajesh Saini, Arun Dubey, Abhishek Sharma, Paramjit, Yash Pal, Ashok Wazir, Rahul Nargotra, Praveen Ghai and several others were also present.
